Leather Naturally Welcomes Two New Members to Management Board

Leather Naturally is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Management Board: Jim Deheer (Loop Marketing) and Carla Vélez (Leather Cluster Barcelona).

Jim succeeds Alexa Rosatti (JBS) as Communications Lead, while Carla takes over the position previously held by Natasja Brouns (Stahl). We extend our sincere thanks to Alexa and Natasja for their dedicated service and valuable contributions during their tenure.

About Jim Deheer

With more than two decades of experience in the leather, luxury, and manufacturing sectors, Jim Deheer brings a unique blend of industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to responsible leather practices.

Through his work with the Scottish Leather Group, Leather Working Group, One 4 Leather, and his own company Loop Marketing, Jim has gained a deep understanding of sustainability, certification, and communication within the leather value chain.

A passionate advocate for the industry, Jim focuses on clear, fact-based storytelling that unites stakeholders, builds trust, and reinforces leather’s role in a sustainable future.

About Carla Vélez

Carla is a creative project manager and educator working at the crossroads of leather, design, and sustainable innovation. Her journey into the leather industry began at La Gaspar School of Art and Design in Igualada, Spain, where she taught and nurtured a passion for materials, craftsmanship, and fashion.

Holding a Master’s in Fashion Communication and Marketing with a focus on the luxury sector, Carla now leads European projects at Leather Cluster Barcelona that bridge design, education, and sustainability. She continues to teach at La Gaspar and coordinate its Erasmus program, helping students engage with the global leather ecosystem.

Carla is dedicated to promoting leather as a noble and sustainable material while amplifying Igualada’s unique creative and industrial heritage.

Both Jim and Carla will serve on the Leather Naturally Management Board for an initial term of three years. We look forward to their leadership and fresh perspectives as Leather Naturally continues to advocate for responsible leather and strengthen collaboration across the global industry.
