JBS Couros is a global leather processing industry, with twenty-one manufacturing units and five distribution centers on four continents, offering solutions that rely on innovation, sustainability and efficient international logistics. The company produces leathers for the automotive, furniture, footwear and leather goods sectors.
With more than six decades of history, JBS is one of the global leaders in the food industry and has more than 235 thousand employees worldwide. It has a diversified product portfolio with dozens of recognized brands worldwide. It operates in sectors related to its core business such as leathers, biodiesel, collagen, soaps, glycerin and sausage wraps, as well as waste management, metal packaging and transport businesses that support its operation. This variety of products serves more than 300 thousand customers in more than 150 countries.
JBS Couros has a strict traceability system that allows the raw material to be monitored from its origin to the delivery of the final product to the customer. This system provides greater control in relation to the sustainable origin of the leathers while offering important information related to product quality. The JBS Couros traceability system is internationally recognized. All of the company’s Wet Blue and Wet White plants certified by LWG have a maximum score in this regard.
As JBS Couros believes in the inclusion of sustainability in all its operations, it created a new product: Kind Leather is the result of years of research and dedication to develop an authentically sustainable leather. By combining concepts such as sustainability, clean production and tracking, it established a new product concept that seeks to promote a more transparent production chain, from the farm to the final product. The result is greater efficiency in the use of resources, producing higher quality leather and considerably reducing the volume of water, energy and chemicals used. As part of a monitored production chain with tracking of all its phases, the process also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and waste.
