IULTCS

Originally organised in 1897, IULTCS is currently comporsed of 19 Member Societies and 6 Associate Members, representing some 3000 individual members.

According to the IULTCS statutes, the aims of the Union are to foster cooperation between member societies, to hold congresses to further the advancement of leather science and technology, to form commissions for special studies and to establish international methods of samples and testing leather and materials associated with leather manufacture.

The IULTCS organisation has held 37 congresses in twenty different countries on five continents, with the most recent being held in Chengdu, China in 2023.


Leather and Hide Council of America

The merger was of two U.S.’ oldest industry associations, the United States Hide, Skin and Leather Association, founded in 1979, and the Leather Industries of America, founded in 1917.

The Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA) was established in 2020 following the merger of two of the U.S.’ oldest industry associations, the United States Hide, Skin and Leather Association, founded in 1979, and the Leather Industries of America, founded in 1917. The result was a powerful new voice for the sector, a trade body representing the interests of some 77 member companies, large and small, ranging from meat packers and hide processors, to leather tanners and finished leather goods producers, in the US and around the world.

The LHCA is a full-service industry trade association. The association provides its members with government, public relations, and international trade assistance and support. LHCA is a cooperator organization under the US Department of Agriculture’s foreign market development and market access programs, assisting US firms to develop new markets for agricultural exports and to provide the insights and support services necessary for success.

In addition to promoting the quality of US-sourced products, we also lead the way working to establish and promote best practices in leather production, to set new international standards in sustainability and traceability, and to promote those values to stakeholders around the world. LHCA is at the forefront of the industry’s needs, providing the industry and stakeholders with education and technical information to compete in today’s global marketplace.


Leather Engineers and Technologists Society Bangladesh

LETS'B is established in 1989 to preserve the interest and welfare of its members and serve the nation by practicing sound technical matters for Leather, Footwear and Leather Products Industries.

The Leather Engineers and Technologists’ Society was founded in 1989 and registered with the appropriate body of the Government of Bangladesh. It has now 1225 active members and the numbers of members are increasing once the graduates come out from the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology (ILET), under the University of Dhaka and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).

The members of the organization are serving for the leather sector in terms of employee, employer, and entrepreneur and so on relating to the industry thus they can uphold the Professional Responsibility, Compliance issues and Social Responsibility.

The main objectives of the organization is to get all members united under one roof for the greater interest of the professional , technical and social values so they can be enriched to serve for the leather industry. LETS’B practices some activities like seminar, workshop and training program on environment friendly technology, sustainability, compliance, effluent treatment, waste management etc. by collaboration with expert bodies from home and abroad. LETS’B plays a vital role in arranging Leather Exhibition in Bangladesh and participates in similar events in the overseas. Apart from the professional issues, LETS’B is highly responsive to the CSR issues, like Covid19 and similar emergency matters.


Lasra

LASRA is the independent research association of the New Zealand hide, skin and leather processing industry. Its role is to guide and support the Industry’s vision for sustainably produced premium quality hides and skins for export through targeted research and technology transfer.

Protecting and representing the economic and political interests of leather producers is our primary mission.

UNIC - Italian Tanners' Association

It not only promotes the interests of the sector, it also represents it on every level, boosts innovation, enhances both its social and environmental role and sets up commercial companies that are functional to the sectorial market.

It is a member of Confindustria, Cotance the European Confederation of Tanners and ICT the International Council of Tanners. The Italian tanning industry employs 17,612 people in about 1,200 companies. It's annual turnover is5 billion Euros and it has always been considered to be the worlds leading industry thanks to its high level of technological development and quality, its outstanding environmental commitment and its ability to innovate in terms of stylistic design. The industry is made up, more or less, of small-medium-sized companies, which are mainly located in specialized districts divided up by the type of processing and the destination of the goods.


Turkish Leather Industrialists Association

TLIA is the only national association connected with tanning industry in Turkey.

Turkish Leather Industrialists’ Association (TLIA) is a non-governmental organisation established in 1927. TLIA is the only national association connected with tanning industry in Turkey. Aim of the association is to gather tanners and to contribute to the development of the industry.

In order to realize its mission TLIA, communicate with public bodies regularly, inform industrial problems and possible solutions, develop projects based on industrial needs and promote Leather in domestic market


TILA - Taiwanese International Leather Association

The members of the association include the tanneries of China in Vietnam and Thailand, producers of tanning machines, chemical suppliers and agents, distributors of raw materials and environmentally friendly companies.


Thai Tanning Industry Association

The purpose of this association is to help our members with technically environmental and industrial waste issues. Furthermore we help our members with international trade.
